Pink noise = Perlin noise
I respect Perlin’s work in this field, but taking material benefits such as nobel prizes is not for true scientist! So I believe that everybody should call it pink noise, not Perlin noise.
Second variance of pink noise is mid-point displacement algorithm (square-diamond algorithm). Then I thought about Catmull-Rom subdivision algorithm. Is it the same? If so it must be deal like with Perlin noise case :(
But maybe it because its simplier to remember, then they should live.
Then I thought about the difference between homogeneous and isotropic. Homogeneous is scalarish and isotropic is vectorish. And maybe unifying word is monotonic, at lease one meaning of this word.
